Cumbria NEC-RIG Research Day: 2026

Join us for our next Parkinson’s NEC-RIG Research Day in North Cumbria — an opportunity to hear about the latest Parkinson’s research happening across the region and to connect with others affected by Parkinson’s.
This friendly and interactive event brings together people living with Parkinson’s, family members, carers, clinicians and researchers. The day includes a keynote talk and informal table-top discussions, giving everyone the chance to ask questions, share experiences and find out how to get involved in research.
We are delighted to announce that Dr Ailish O’Callaghan, Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine and Lead of the Specialist Parkinson’s Service in North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, will be our keynote speaker.

Our 2025 Parkinson’s NEC-RIG Research Day at the Stadium of Light was a fantastic and well-attended event, bringing together people living with Parkinson’s, families, carers, clinicians and researchers from across the North East and Cumbria.
The day featured a keynote address from Dr Uma Nath, Consultant Neurologist and Parkinson’s Specialist at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, alongside a series of interactive table-top talks highlighting the latest Parkinson’s research and clinical innovation in our region.
